Soon, Tomorrow Maybe

Soon, Tomorrow Maybe is a play performed over the phone, for one spectator at a time.

At the end of the line, Helen, a mother with a soft voice, wanders from memory to memory, sheltered in her garden. Through her half-hearted confessions, we discover a woman suffocated by regrets over which she has no control.

The first play of its kind in Quebec, how to participate is still pretty simple: an actress calls you at the time of your ticket, on your phone. The play is like a conversation, where you have complete freedom to answer or not to the questions asked, to ask your own questions, or to interact, as you wish. You can only listen if you prefer.

The result of three years of documentary research, which included interviews and meetings with experts, Soon, Tomorrow Maybe is more than anything an intimate, artistic, and unique experience offering accessible theatre to all, while speaking in a human way about this rarely discussed subject: these women who adore their children, but hate the daily life of motherhood.

Presented more than 125 times in 2020 in French under the name Tantôt, demain peut-être, Théâtre Déchaînés was proud to be able to produce this memorable show in English, thanks to the financial support of the  Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
